*If you are having difficulty listening to the show,
email me and we'll try and troubleshoot the problem together.

WTF?!

It seems like things have gone from great, to good, to just bad. Like I've previously stated, The Beat has some internal problems or whatever you want to call it. Now, almost all of the original DJs are gone AND the station has changed the type of music they play from R&B and Hip Hop to just R&B. I don't know how they expect people to keep listening. And how is Free supposed to stay at a station that plays soley R&B? This sh*t is killing me. It seems like everytime Free catches a break, something happens. I really don't know what else to say. Hopefully, this situation turns out for the best.

*Just in case you haven't noticed, the comments have been disabled. If y'all want to talk about something, especially this topic, you'll have to head over to the forum.

Rewind: Vol. 5

It's Friday and I'm excited for a lot of reasons, but y'all will have to wait and see what they are...........

A lot of people came through and called in this week on Free's World. New Edition called the station up to let L.A. know about their upcoming concert in the area and touring. Kenny Smith, ESPN reporter, also dropped a line to talk about the Clippers vs. Suns series and other sports happenings. Free asked him who he would pick for his dream team. Kenny responded with Free, Foxy Brown, and Lil' Kim.

By far, the best interview during the week was with Busta Rhymes and Spliff Star. You know he and Free haven't seen each other in a minute, so it was sort of a catching up session. Busta brought his new joint with him called "I Love My Chick" and it was funny because after the song he started saying, "I love my Free." The interview slipped into a more serious mode when Free asked Busta about the murder of his body guard and friend Israel Ramirez. Busta really went into detail about the reasons why he's not talking to the police and his overall feelings about the situation. It was crazy because it was like he was just talking to Free in his living room. It was real personal.

But whenever Busta and Spliff are in the building things don't stay serious for too long. Free asked Busta who are the top 5 females he would want to get with. First thing he said was, "Halle Berry could get it." *Pause: Why do dudes always say that? I mean, are you sure she feels like you could get it too? Mutual feelings are important in these types of situations. Okay, I'm done now. LOL. *Play: Oprah and Free could get it too, according to Busta. Spliff broke in somewhere in the interview and said that he was proud of Free. He said that she just disappeared and then they found out "sweet toes" had her own thing in L.A. I loved the interview from top to bottom.

Free gave away her Nissan Murano during today's show, which was live on location. The winner started crying, but she definitely needed the car. I don't know if any of y'all heard Armand from the Night Beat on the air. Whoooooo! His voice is something crazy. I understand why he plays all the love songs and such. LOL.

And that's about it. Have a great weekend y'all.

What You've Been Waiting For

Ooooh, I'm so hype right now, but let me share this pic of Jamie Foxx and Free with you right quick.

Okay, on to bigger business. If you've stopped by Free's MySpace page today, then you'll know she has a new blog up. There's some very exciting news at the end of her blog and I quote:

"But now I'd be honored if yall would do me a favor and play A&R for me... So every Tuesday for a month yall will get a song on myspace and you can add it to your page.. The first track should be up around 5PM today.. Holla @ ya girl."

I'm too ready for this. Y'all make sure to swing back over here to leave your feedback about the song.

4 Minutes....And A Little More

Avant chilling in the studio with Free a couple of weeks ago on his birthday.

Free helping out the community on Big Sunday in L.A.

Rewind: Vol. 4

What's good? It's that time of the week again, so let's jump right into it.

Nothing really went down this week. Tracy Ellis Ross came by the studio on Monday to talk about the season finale of Girlfriends (which was extremely good, I hope they return for their last season) . Tracy and Free together is something crazy. They talked about good girlfriends, L.A., and a bunch of explicit things that we will not discuss at this current moment in time. Some 106 memories were shared and Free talked about her wardrobe malfunctions. The whole interview was funny.

Jamie Kennedy called in to talk about his new show on MTV. I still can't figure out if this guy is serious and frankly, I don't want to find out.

Wingo from Jagged Edge called in right before the start of Fandemonium and Free talked about how much she is a fan of their music. He talked about their upcoming single, which he said is for the clubs and the release of their 5th studio album this past Tuesday. (*Side note: "Good Luck Charm" is one of my favorite songs right now.) Free said that when she moved across the country to L.A., there were 3 things that she took with her: the pimp cup Lil' Jon gave her, the teddy bear Luther Vandross signed for her, and the teddy bear Jagged Edge gave to her on their first 106 appearance. Everyone together now: "Aaawwwwww."

The majority of the week was built around hyping up Fandemonium, which went down today........or yesterday. You know what that means? Pictures! As soon as I have them, they'll be up here.

It's late, I'm going to bed, well maybe. But y'all make sure to have a good weekend and wish your mothers a Happy Mother's Day.

Question

What the hell did Free say about something special. I promise that every time I stop listening for a second she starts talking about it. All I know is it has something to do with Friday (maybe?) and 4 o'clock. Anyone know the rest?

Unexpected

If you haven't figured out already, Free's World has been moved back one hour to 4 o'clock. Not only that, but Free's show has been scaled down one hour as well. So now the times are 4-7 Pacific time. The Beat has some serious internal problems and if you check their on-air DJs on a regular basis, than you'll notice that it changes almost every week. The station is slowly getting rid of almost all of its DJs. For what? I really don't know, but many think it's because 100.3 is about to be sold. Whatever the reason, let's hope Free's show continues to come on. I'm mad they're about to get rid of A-One, that was my dude. Let's not forget that Free's World also comes on Saturdays from 2-6 PM Pacific time.

To get you through the extra hour of waiting, I have a feature song of the day. I love this song crazy and I hope you do too. It's Talib Kweli feat. Free with
"Ghetto Love."

Rewind: Vol. 3

It's Friday and that means it's time for your weekly dose of Rewind. Volume 3, that is.

The week started off with Free stating her real age. See
"Ain't Nothin' But A Number" for all the details on that.

Lyfe Jennings came to the studio to talk about his ne album entitled Phoenix and his new song called "S.E.X," which is quite a nice record if I may say so myself. Throughout the whole interview Free told Lyfe of how big a fan she is. If you don't have this man's debut album, Lyfe 268-192, something is missing in your life.

Something that was too cute was Free's mom's surprise call. Free asked her what she was doing calling the station and her mom, Selena, told her that everyone back in Boston was missing her, but that's not the only reason why she called. Apparently, Free's mom is a Jamie Foxx fan because she called to request "Unpredictable."

Tichina Arnold did a phone interview to promote her new movie, Preaching to the Choir and her soon to be movie with Martin Lawrence, Wild Hogs. There was a lot of praise going on between the two with Free saying that Tichina is always around doing her thing. Tichina mentioned that she had to shout out her baby's father and then dropped the typical, "Can't wait for your album to drop." Free said that Tichina's husband has made some "beautiful" music for her and that sent Tichina into praise of Free's music. Tichina knew Free back in the day and she told her to "keep it moving" and "stick to your gut." She continued by saying that the music industry is fickle, but every once in a while a great artist comes along, which will eventually be Free. She also said that she is probably more excited about Free's project than Free herself is. It was a lovely interview.

AJ became the topic of conversation sometime during the week. During a music break, someone in the studio made a comment about loving AJ's clothes and everyone started laughing. Back on the air, Free said she would let us know when AJ would be stopping through, which should be soon. She also said she loved AJ and his tight shirts.

Dame Dash called in right quick to promote a new movie premeiring in California, but I never caught the name of it.

Rewind for this week is a wrap. In honor of AJ...... "Love, live life."

Ain't Nothin' But A Number

So.........................KING Magazine was WRONG. Today on 100.3 The Beat, Free stated her real age. What is it? 36. Some of y'all were right, I know I was wrong along with a ton of other people. But's it's all good. Free said, "All that stuff you read about me being 40 is wrong." Anyone who says otherwise is trippin' and you should let them know.
