The remix to "Wait." According to the "What's your favorite Free song?" poll below, 30% of you chose Free's nasty, yet crazy, verse on the Ying Yang Twins' remix. "Wonder Why" came in second place with 16%. Over at PJ Butta's Bootlegs, the "Wait" Remix has been downloaded 18,042 times and is still #3 on the Top 5 Downloads. The song has actually been apart of the Top 5 since the beginning of the summer. "Flow so properly, you'll see Free's like WHOA!" LOL. Russ Parr Morning Show

It looks like some people were receiving Free radio these past couple of days. Free filled in yesterday and today for Russ Parr on his morning radio show. For those of you who don't remember, she hosted the R&B and Hip Hop Billboard Awards with Russ last year (the picture above). Now I'm told that she didn't actually say anything about what's going on with her, but that she was really good. I checked the message board for the show today, and they were going crazy for Free, which is always good to hear. Remember this rumor from AllHipHop.com?

OK, I’m hearing that Free might be coming to the radio in New York City. I won’t say who, because nothing is finalized. But, I’ll just say that she might be coming to compete with another so and so that is faring pretty well in the Big Apple.

Could radio be one of Free's many next moves? We'll just have to wait and see.

**Update** I received this email last night from Alvin aka A-Man, the creator of Free's Fan Club. I was unable to listen to the show online because I couldn't find where you could, but if any of you did, holla at me.

Free has been sitting in for Russ Parr on his morning show in D.C.. I don't know if she will be on all this week but you can hear the show 6 A.M. till 10 A.M. EST at . Free sounded happy and was having loads of fun on the show.

My goodies.....

I hope y'all had a wonderful Christmas and as my late gift to you, I have some goodies. I've updated a whole bunch of things so here we go. There are tons of Free pictures added to the photo section, many which have never been seen before, like the one above. There's also a new song on the media site called "Just Because," which was a joint that Free did with fellow Bostonian Ed O.G. back in 2001. The lyrics for "Shook Up" have been added as well. And for those of you unable to find Free in Rah Digga's video, you can catch her about 1:57 into the video singing the chorus. She's sitting on top of a couch on the left side of the screen. That aside, what did y'all think of the Canibus record "Here 4 Free?" Drop me your opinion in the comments if you will. Even though I've got all these updates, I'm down and out when it comes to a certain song. I can't seem to find the remix to "You Don't Know My Name" with Free on it to save my life. If anyone has it, holla at me so I can put it in the media section. It would be greatly appreciated. Until next time, I'm out.

*P.S. Did anyone else hear that Free was on the Russ Parr morning show today? We don't get his show down here, so if you did actually hear her on the radio, let us know what she said. Thanks in advance.

Friends, how many of us have them?

Since Christmas is all about family and friends, I thought I would bring you some of Free's "family" and friends that she has in the industry. Enjoy!

Free and Mario have both said that they share a brother and sister relationship. And IMO, whenever he came to the couch you could tell. Free had this to say about Mario: "His voice is so beautiful, it's energizing when you hear it. Imagine what he'll sound like in 10 years."

Here, Free is pictured with a bunch of her friends at Game's album release party. Traci Washington, her best friend since childhood, is the first one from the left. She was Free's hairstylist on 106 and I'm pretty sure that she still does hair for BET. This is what Traci had to say about her good friend: "Free and I are like sisters. We don't really gossip, we tend to talk about our personal lives. We don't get down and dog people. Free isn't that type of person anyway, unless you do something bad to her."

Free actually knew 50 when he was recording his first CD with Columbia Records. On 106's Christmas show in 2003, 50 told the audience about his and Free's activities before they both hit it big. Apparently, they used to play a game where 50 would lock Free in a room and she would have to get out in a certain amount of time. She said she always won because she always got out, but 50 quickly turned her comment into a sexual one. What was the joke? Well, we'll just leave that to your imagination, it was funny though.

Nelly and Free have been friends since about the beginning of 106 & Park. The picture to the left was taken at the Break! 2004 Celebrity Pool Tournament. In a Maad Sports interview Nelly stated that he and Free have a brother and sister relationship. He said that they both support each other in their ventures, whatever they may be. On a side note, Free said that Nelly helped her get over her fear of small planes when he invited her on a private jet with him to St. Louis for a Hip Hop Summit voting rally.

Both Free and AJ are tight with Cash Money, new and old. On numerous visits to 106, they have all talked about their times together including a pajama party that Free attended while in New Orleans. Lil' Wayne and Free have talked in the past about working together musically. Wayne said that he has been a fan of Free since her "Patriots" days.

This is a picture of Free on the set of Keyshia Cole's video "I Should've Cheated" (which we never got to see her in because BET is full of ****). Here is what Keyshia had to say about Free: "Free is one of my homegirls. She really wants to be involved, and I think that's really cool. She's a down-to-earth person. I met her one time and ever since then we've just been cool."

As we all probably know, Free and Luda are pretty tight and have been since 106 began. One of my favorite 106 moments was when Ludacris surprised Free for her birthday earlier this year with an enormous cake that said "FREE." He also got her a four wheeler, which was crazy to me. Luda actually turned Free on to four wheelers over NBA All Star Weekend 2003 down in Atlanta.

I think Free and Enuff have always been cool. He, along with Kast One, was the one who helped put Free's mixtape out in 2003. Enuff has always believed in her talent and supported her in everything else that she's done. I believe the reason why Enuff isn't on 106 anymore is because of his loyalty to AJ and Free.

Free and Canibus rolled together during their "Navy Seal" days with Wyclef Jean. His style is extremely gritty, but he's always harbored a soft spot for Free. He put her on "Patriots" then wrote a horribly mushy (for lack of a better word) song for Free called "Here 4 Free." Now, I can count on one hand how many times I've listened to that song and there's a reason. But judge for yourself by clicking on the song title. Bis and Free recently hooked back up for "Close To Me."

"106 & Park" was so much more than just playing an artist's videos. Friendships, long lasting ones at that, were created and maintained all off of a simple concept: playing videos. So even though AJ and Free are no longer on 106, I think we can all agree that these above artists will never feel the same when they grace the couch knowing that an incredibly important part of its chemistry is forever gone.

*And if I don't make another post before Christmas, I just wanna wish y'all a blessed and Merry Christmas!*

Vote or Die.

Now that y'all have checked out the majority of Free's tracks, what's your favorite? Personally, I really like Wonder Why, Shook Up, Caught Up, and..............yes, the infamous Wait remix. Everyone wanted to hear that song 'cause they heard Free had gone crazy on it. I don't care what anyone says, Free made that song. But that's just MY opinion, so tell me yours. If you like a song that's not listed on the poll below, drop me a line in the comments.

Ain't that about a......?

I so sorry y'all, but the audio in the media section is down right now. Just give me a little time to match my panties with my bra and get my sh*t together. LOL. The video clips are still there and I'm about to put up videos Free was featured in. But until then.......

Did y'all catch that quick picture of Free on MTV's "My Block: Atlanta?" It was taken during All Star Weekend in 2003 at Gladys Knight's Chicken & Waffles. Here's the pic for those of you that haven't seen it.

Free of a boyfriend's abuse.

I know I've had some pretty light hearted topics lately, but I want to uncover a darker side of Free's life for you guys. The fact that she is the person she is today after such struggles as this, has truly elevated my respect for her. If you've ever really looked at Free, you've probably noticed she's got a few scars here and there. Now, I know what one was a result of, but I'm clueless about the others. Form your own opinion, but things like this make you remember that every scar has a story behind it.

Free At Last

Watching the in control hostess of BET's 106 & Park, you'd never guess that she'd let anyone push her around. But Marie Wright-the spunky TV star and fledgling hip-hop artist know as Free-once had an abusive boyfriend. Here, she shares her story and tells why she's trying to stop violence. ~ Told by Nina Malkin

When I was in seventh grade, a guy on the school bus pulled a gun on me becasue I wouldn't give him my phone number. I sat still. The driver stopped the bus, and they got him as he got off. I saw a lot f those kinds of incidents growing up. In my old neighborhodd, guys would fight with their girlfriends, girls would throw things at their boyfriends' cars. The craziness surrounding relationships that I saw--I thought it was just what happens.

With one of the guys I dated when I was younger, it didn't start out that way. He was sweet and he was cool. I felt comfortable around him, and I felt safe. I was wrong. After we were together about six months, he became possessive and verbally disrespectful when I wanted to do something he didn't want me to do-like go to a girlfriend's house. He would say mean, nasty things.

By the time we were together a year, the abuse became physical. He would grab me, I would fight back. He was a big guy; I'm only five feet tall. I got bruises sometimes.

I didn't tell my mom or dad. I would talk to some girlfriends, but either they didn't believe me or they were going through the same things. I felt alone. And every time I was with him, I felt fear. He would come into the room, and I would feel like I couldn't be myself. It was getting too physical-I was being hurt. He would try to make it seem like it was my fault, say things like, "You made me do it." Buth the physcial pain was not the worst part; the emotional scars were the hardest thing. It got to the point were I bascially said, "Enough."

But it took awhile. No calls; no calling him. I had to learn to not worry about him, to not think about him, to just move on with my life. The last time he tried to see me, he got so crazy and kicked in my back door. I ran out the front, ran for my life.

That was years ago. Since then I've had good relationships. I'm single now, I'm happy. And my Boston-based foundation, Free4Life, has a new teen- dating violence intervention program. Maybe if something like that had been avaliable to me, I would have gotten out of my bad situation sooner. But there's no formula. You have to let yourself make mistakes- you just don't ever want to make the mistake that's going to get you hurt, maimes, disfigured, or killed.

Carefree Living?

Just because she's sitting pretty on BET doesn't mean life's been carefree. From disappointments and critics to an abusive relationship, Free has dealt with drama.

"It was difficult," Free says, speaking of the abusive relationship she had when she was younger. It started off well, but by the sixth month, that kind and cool guy she'd known became something else — verbally abusive.

By the one-year mark, it was physical. Free would sometimes get hurt. "I'm a fighter and I just decided I couldn't deal with that," she says. "It was wrong, uncomfortable, and crazy for me, so I just got out of it."

"Diamonds on my neck. Di-diamonds on my neck."

Since we're on the subject of the oh-so-lovely ice, I thought I would give you a few more photos of the type of jewels Free rocks. These kind of photos are very rare though, because Free doesn't really wear too much jewelry.

This picture is from BET's "15 The Hard Way" campaign. As you can see, Free is doing it way big with the diamond cross, bracelets, and ring. And, oh! Don't forget the earrings.

Free is sporting a couple of sun necklaces and a charm bracelet that actually spells out her real name, "Marie," at BET's Spring Bling '05.

Now, for the unforgettable "F" ring. Fabolous gave Free this ring last September when he came on 106 to premiere his new joint "Breathe." During a video, Fab jokingly "proposed" to Free, handing over the canary yellow diamond ring. Just as he was about to bounce, she commented that Fab took the ring back. They both laughed but Fab said that Free "gave it back." So, who has the ring? Free does. The following day, at Free's "Break! Celebrity Pool Tournament," Fab gave the ring back to her. How do I know? She was seen flashing the ring at the tournament and on the 1000th episode of "106 & Park." That sh*t is crazy. Just look at that ring! You can click on the link below to see a pic of Fab presenting Free with this amazing ring, this time for keeps.

Are you giving me the evil eye?

Shoot, I hope so. Last night I was watching "The Fabulous Life Of: Today's Hottest Supermodels" on VH1 and something came up on the screen that made me say, "Hey, Free has that!" What exactly is "that?" Well, it's an Evil Eye bracelet that has apparently become the craze among supermodels. The belief is when others look at you in envy of your good fortune, bad things are sure to follow. These bracelets are supposed to ward off that bad fortune and we all know that Free needs that.

The bracelet pictured is a 14K white gold blue quartz and black/white diamond "Protective Eye" bracelet, but it isn't quite the one that Free has, hers is a little flashier. Some of you probably know that it was actually AJ who gave this beauty to Free on last year's Christmas show. Now, this bracelet cost around $2,800. Keep in mind though, that Free's contains a lot more diamonds than the one on the left. So, how much do you think Free's banks for? "You should think about it, take a second..............ding!" $8,000. *Young Jeezy voice* "Daaaaaaaammmmmmmmnnnnnnnn!" What y'all know about that? I don't know about you, but me? Not a damn thing. LOL.
