And the winner is.....

The remix to "Wait." According to the "What's your favorite Free song?" poll below, 30% of you chose Free's nasty, yet crazy, verse on the Ying Yang Twins' remix. "Wonder Why" came in second place with 16%. Over at PJ Butta's Bootlegs, the "Wait" Remix has been downloaded 18,042 times and is still #3 on the Top 5 Downloads. The song has actually been apart of the Top 5 since the beginning of the summer. "Flow so properly, you'll see Free's like WHOA!" LOL. Anyway, here are some reviews from the Platinum Users on the site.

Russ Parr Morning Show

It looks like some people were receiving Free radio these past couple of days. Free filled in yesterday and today for Russ Parr on his morning radio show. For those of you who don't remember, she hosted the R&B and Hip Hop Billboard Awards with Russ last year (the picture above). Now I'm told that she didn't actually say anything about what's going on with her, but that she was really good. I checked the message board for the show today, and they were going crazy for Free, which is always good to hear. Remember this rumor from AllHipHop.com?

OK, I’m hearing that Free might be coming to the radio in New York City. I won’t say who, because nothing is finalized. But, I’ll just say that she might be coming to compete with another so and so that is faring pretty well in the Big Apple.

Could radio be one of Free's many next moves? We'll just have to wait and see.

**Update** I received this email last night from Alvin aka A-Man, the creator of Free's Fan Club. I was unable to listen to the show online because I couldn't find where you could, but if any of you did, holla at me.

Free has been sitting in for Russ Parr on his morning show in D.C.. I don't know if she will be on all this week but you can hear the show 6 A.M. till 10 A.M. EST at . Free sounded happy and was having loads of fun on the show.

My goodies.....

I hope y'all had a wonderful Christmas and as my late gift to you, I have some goodies. I've updated a whole bunch of things so here we go. There are tons of Free pictures added to the photo section, many which have never been seen before, like the one above. There's also a new song on the media site called "Just Because," which was a joint that Free did with fellow Bostonian Ed O.G. back in 2001. The lyrics for "Shook Up" have been added as well. And for those of you unable to find Free in Rah Digga's video, you can catch her about 1:57 into the video singing the chorus. She's sitting on top of a couch on the left side of the screen. That aside, what did y'all think of the Canibus record "Here 4 Free?" Drop me your opinion in the comments if you will. Even though I've got all these updates, I'm down and out when it comes to a certain song. I can't seem to find the remix to "You Don't Know My Name" with Free on it to save my life. If anyone has it, holla at me so I can put it in the media section. It would be greatly appreciated. Until next time, I'm out.

*P.S. Did anyone else hear that Free was on the Russ Parr morning show today? We don't get his show down here, so if you did actually hear her on the radio, let us know what she said. Thanks in advance.

Friends, how many of us have them?

Since Christmas is all about family and friends, I thought I would bring you some of Free's "family" and friends that she has in the industry. Enjoy!

Free and Mario have both said that they share a brother and sister relationship. And IMO, whenever he came to the couch you could tell. Free had this to say about Mario: "His voice is so beautiful, it's energizing when you hear it. Imagine what he'll sound like in 10 years."

Here, Free is pictured with a bunch of her friends at Game's album release party. Traci Washington, her best friend since childhood, is the first one from the left. She was Free's hairstylist on 106 and I'm pretty sure that she still does hair for BET. This is what Traci had to say about her good friend: "Free and I are like sisters. We don't really gossip, we tend to talk about our personal lives. We don't get down and dog people. Free isn't that type of person anyway, unless you do something bad to her."

Free actually knew 50 when he was recording his first CD with Columbia Records. On 106's Christmas show in 2003, 50 told the audience about his and Free's activities before they both hit it big. Apparently, they used to play a game where 50 would lock Free in a room and she would have to get out in a certain amount of time. She said she always won because she always got out, but 50 quickly turned her comment into a sexual one. What was the joke? Well, we'll just leave that to your imagination, it was funny though.

Nelly and Free have been friends since about the beginning of 106 & Park. The picture to the left was taken at the Break! 2004 Celebrity Pool Tournament. In a Maad Sports interview Nelly stated that he and Free have a brother and sister relationship. He said that they both support each other in their ventures, whatever they may be. On a side note, Free said that Nelly helped her get over her fear of small planes when he invited her on a private jet with him to St. Louis for a Hip Hop Summit voting rally.

Both Free and AJ are tight with Cash Money, new and old. On numerous visits to 106, they have all talked about their times together including a pajama party that Free attended while in New Orleans. Lil' Wayne and Free have talked in the past about working together musically. Wayne said that he has been a fan of Free since her "Patriots" days.

This is a picture of Free on the set of Keyshia Cole's video "I Should've Cheated" (which we never got to see her in because BET is full of ****). Here is what Keyshia had to say about Free: "Free is one of my homegirls. She really wants to be involved, and I think that's really cool. She's a down-to-earth person. I met her one time and ever since then we've just been cool."

As we all probably know, Free and Luda are pretty tight and have been since 106 began. One of my favorite 106 moments was when Ludacris surprised Free for her birthday earlier this year with an enormous cake that said "FREE." He also got her a four wheeler, which was crazy to me. Luda actually turned Free on to four wheelers over NBA All Star Weekend 2003 down in Atlanta.

I think Free and Enuff have always been cool. He, along with Kast One, was the one who helped put Free's mixtape out in 2003. Enuff has always believed in her talent and supported her in everything else that she's done. I believe the reason why Enuff isn't on 106 anymore is because of his loyalty to AJ and Free.

Free and Canibus rolled together during their "Navy Seal" days with Wyclef Jean. His style is extremely gritty, but he's always harbored a soft spot for Free. He put her on "Patriots" then wrote a horribly mushy (for lack of a better word) song for Free called "Here 4 Free." Now, I can count on one hand how many times I've listened to that song and there's a reason. But judge for yourself by clicking on the song title. Bis and Free recently hooked back up for "Close To Me."

"106 & Park" was so much more than just playing an artist's videos. Friendships, long lasting ones at that, were created and maintained all off of a simple concept: playing videos. So even though AJ and Free are no longer on 106, I think we can all agree that these above artists will never feel the same when they grace the couch knowing that an incredibly important part of its chemistry is forever gone.

*And if I don't make another post before Christmas, I just wanna wish y'all a blessed and Merry Christmas!*

Vote or Die.

Now that y'all have checked out the majority of Free's tracks, what's your favorite? Personally, I really like Wonder Why, Shook Up, Caught Up, and..............yes, the infamous Wait remix. Everyone wanted to hear that song 'cause they heard Free had gone crazy on it. I don't care what anyone says, Free made that song. But that's just MY opinion, so tell me yours. If you like a song that's not listed on the poll below, drop me a line in the comments.

What's your favorite Free song?

I got my sh*t together.

I matched all my under garments and the media section is up again. LOL. I added a couple of songs from Free's World, Free's mixtape. There's a song called "Call Me" and a freestyle by former Freestyle Friday contestant, Orbitz. I also added lyrics to some of the songs, but there will be more later. Holla atcha folk if you got something to say. I appreciate all of your comments.

Ain't that about a......?

I so sorry y'all, but the audio in the media section is down right now. Just give me a little time to match my panties with my bra and get my sh*t together. LOL. The video clips are still there and I'm about to put up videos Free was featured in. But until then.......

Did y'all catch that quick picture of Free on MTV's "My Block: Atlanta?" It was taken during All Star Weekend in 2003 at Gladys Knight's Chicken & Waffles. Here's the pic for those of you that haven't seen it.

*Yo, Sharrod, man, I got that link for you in the media section. Yes, I'm that good.

Free of a boyfriend's abuse.

I know I've had some pretty light hearted topics lately, but I want to uncover a darker side of Free's life for you guys. The fact that she is the person she is today after such struggles as this, has truly elevated my respect for her. If you've ever really looked at Free, you've probably noticed she's got a few scars here and there. Now, I know what one was a result of, but I'm clueless about the others. Form your own opinion, but things like this make you remember that every scar has a story behind it.

Free At Last

Watching the in control hostess of BET's 106 & Park, you'd never guess that she'd let anyone push her around. But Marie Wright-the spunky TV star and fledgling hip-hop artist know as Free-once had an abusive boyfriend. Here, she shares her story and tells why she's trying to stop violence. ~ Told by Nina Malkin

When I was in seventh grade, a guy on the school bus pulled a gun on me becasue I wouldn't give him my phone number. I sat still. The driver stopped the bus, and they got him as he got off. I saw a lot f those kinds of incidents growing up. In my old neighborhodd, guys would fight with their girlfriends, girls would throw things at their boyfriends' cars. The craziness surrounding relationships that I saw--I thought it was just what happens.

With one of the guys I dated when I was younger, it didn't start out that way. He was sweet and he was cool. I felt comfortable around him, and I felt safe. I was wrong. After we were together about six months, he became possessive and verbally disrespectful when I wanted to do something he didn't want me to do-like go to a girlfriend's house. He would say mean, nasty things.

By the time we were together a year, the abuse became physical. He would grab me, I would fight back. He was a big guy; I'm only five feet tall. I got bruises sometimes.

I didn't tell my mom or dad. I would talk to some girlfriends, but either they didn't believe me or they were going through the same things. I felt alone. And every time I was with him, I felt fear. He would come into the room, and I would feel like I couldn't be myself. It was getting too physical-I was being hurt. He would try to make it seem like it was my fault, say things like, "You made me do it." Buth the physcial pain was not the worst part; the emotional scars were the hardest thing. It got to the point were I bascially said, "Enough."

But it took awhile. No calls; no calling him. I had to learn to not worry about him, to not think about him, to just move on with my life. The last time he tried to see me, he got so crazy and kicked in my back door. I ran out the front, ran for my life.

That was years ago. Since then I've had good relationships. I'm single now, I'm happy. And my Boston-based foundation, Free4Life, has a new teen- dating violence intervention program. Maybe if something like that had been avaliable to me, I would have gotten out of my bad situation sooner. But there's no formula. You have to let yourself make mistakes- you just don't ever want to make the mistake that's going to get you hurt, maimes, disfigured, or killed.

Carefree Living?

Just because she's sitting pretty on BET doesn't mean life's been carefree. From disappointments and critics to an abusive relationship, Free has dealt with drama.

"It was difficult," Free says, speaking of the abusive relationship she had when she was younger. It started off well, but by the sixth month, that kind and cool guy she'd known became something else — verbally abusive.

By the one-year mark, it was physical. Free would sometimes get hurt. "I'm a fighter and I just decided I couldn't deal with that," she says. "It was wrong, uncomfortable, and crazy for me, so I just got out of it."

"Diamonds on my neck. Di-diamonds on my neck."

Since we're on the subject of the oh-so-lovely ice, I thought I would give you a few more photos of the type of jewels Free rocks. These kind of photos are very rare though, because Free doesn't really wear too much jewelry.

This picture is from BET's "15 The Hard Way" campaign. As you can see, Free is doing it way big with the diamond cross, bracelets, and ring. And, oh! Don't forget the earrings.

Free is sporting a couple of sun necklaces and a charm bracelet that actually spells out her real name, "Marie," at BET's Spring Bling '05.

Now, for the unforgettable "F" ring. Fabolous gave Free this ring last September when he came on 106 to premiere his new joint "Breathe." During a video, Fab jokingly "proposed" to Free, handing over the canary yellow diamond ring. Just as he was about to bounce, she commented that Fab took the ring back. They both laughed but Fab said that Free "gave it back." So, who has the ring? Free does. The following day, at Free's "Break! Celebrity Pool Tournament," Fab gave the ring back to her. How do I know? She was seen flashing the ring at the tournament and on the 1000th episode of "106 & Park." That sh*t is crazy. Just look at that ring! You can click on the link below to see a pic of Fab presenting Free with this amazing ring, this time for keeps.

Are you giving me the evil eye?

Shoot, I hope so. Last night I was watching "The Fabulous Life Of: Today's Hottest Supermodels" on VH1 and something came up on the screen that made me say, "Hey, Free has that!" What exactly is "that?" Well, it's an Evil Eye bracelet that has apparently become the craze among supermodels. The belief is when others look at you in envy of your good fortune, bad things are sure to follow. These bracelets are supposed to ward off that bad fortune and we all know that Free needs that.

The bracelet pictured is a 14K white gold blue quartz and black/white diamond "Protective Eye" bracelet, but it isn't quite the one that Free has, hers is a little flashier. Some of you probably know that it was actually AJ who gave this beauty to Free on last year's Christmas show. Now, this bracelet cost around $2,800. Keep in mind though, that Free's contains a lot more diamonds than the one on the left. So, how much do you think Free's banks for? "You should think about it, take a second..............ding!" $8,000. *Young Jeezy voice* "Daaaaaaaammmmmmmmnnnnnnnn!" What y'all know about that? I don't know about you, but me? Not a damn thing. LOL.

Free was a no show?

I read this a minute ago, but forgot all about it. Apparently, Free was supposed to be in a play but turned out to be MIA. Now, I think there's a deeper explanation to the situation, so take this with a grain of salt. It's from the October 25th edition of the BV Buzz, written by Jawn Murray.

Finalist Trenyce (season two) has joined the cast of the 'Soul Kittens Cabaret,' the musical revue written and produced by Brownstone singer Nicci Gilbert. Trenyce is currently in Atlanta rehearsing with fellow cast members including singer Tweet, actress Tammy Townsend ('Rock Me Baby'), singer Monifah and others. Former '106 & Park' host Free was also supposed to be in the production, but never showed up for rehearsals.

Whoooooosaaaa!

Okay, now that I've cleared my plate of burdens, let me tell y'all what's really good. The picture below of Free and Tigger was taken at BCC and FAMU's Classic Weekend. Here's a personal account from Nbeach55 over at Free's Fan Club, who was actually there doin' it up way big. So shouts out to her for the info.

"What's up! Free was doing her

thing here in Orlando, Fl. She and Big Tigg hosted a Hip Hop Jam concert for BCC and FAMU Classic weekend. When asked what she's been doing? FREE replied "Just chillin". We know how cool FREE is, so she and Tigg was holding it down! She's still as beautiful and stylish as ever![still pimping her boots]. I just hate I couldn't get close enough to get their autograph they were being heavily guarded !!"

Thou shalt not steal.

Before I give y'all the lowdown, I got some things to say in order to exhale. I was gone for quite some time, that's why the site hasn't been updated. But lo and behold, I came back to find that some of my sh*t had been straight jacked right from under me. I went to another Free site and saw MY info in someone else's post. How did I know it was my sh*t? Well, I know my sh*t when I see my sh*t and THAT was definitely my sh*t. The info that was jacked was MINE, it was personal information that only I had, no one else. Now, I'm not gonna say any names, but I don't appreciate that mess AT ALL. I can't stop anyone from reading what's on this site and putting it on another, but can I AT LEAST get some credit? How about a courtesy of....? Please, act like you know I was at least one of the FIRST people to give you that exclusive sh*t. Trust me, I'm not mad, but next time, damn, drop a plug for me or something.

Damn, Free at last!

Okay, I told y'all I was gonna be ghost for the rest of the week, but I had to keep you posted on what's really good. Free is back so "F" what you heard. This is from AllHipHop.com's rumor section.

FREE IS BACK!

Y’all don’t hear me, man! Free ain’t going nowhere! She has a new joint with the Canibus man that I proudly present to you. The song is called “Close To Me” and I have used MegaUpLoad so I don’t blow AHH’s servers out of the water. I know you all will be downloading this like crazy. Seriously, the song is nice and Free can spit! But, those of you like me know this already, because she’s been rapping for a minute! And for those of you that STILL think Free is pregnant or washed up, check out the picture! And, you know, haters like Chimdi need to get a over it - Free is here! BET, Deb Lee, Bob Johnson, Stephen Hill - somebody-Bring Free back. When "106 & Park" Freestyle Friday rappers are calling for it by dissin' Julissa...come on. The song is below!

Canibus feat. Free-Close To Me
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5JME8838

I think the "Boston Bean" just brought it home with this one!

FREEstyle Friday.

Last week's Freestyle Friday on 106 definitely turned out to be all about Free. The champion basically took it to Julissa (I shall hold my peace about her). Of course, she got her feelings hurt, but that mess was crazy funny. Here it is if any of you missed it:

"Them rhymes, you should hold 'em in. The day you win, Free'll come slap Julissa and host the show again."

After he said that, the crowd went crazy and I was busy rollin' on the floor in front of my TV laughing. Keep it real, Julissa, or as I like to call her, Yasmeen, doesn't even hold a candle to Free and I think that's an understatement. But hey, that's just MY opinion. Holla at ya folk, tell me what you thought about the battle.

Wishing On A Star.

I think we're all hoping Free will get a record deal soon and put out her long awaited debut album. But could it be that Free has already struck a deal that we are unaware of? Well, I'm wishing on a star for that one. I received this email back in August from DJ K~Sly of LA's 100.3 The Beat.

Hey hey...thanks for your info. Yes, she did have a finished album, but has to record some more b/c it was shelved. Free doesn't plan to put out all of the old material, so, she's recording some new tracks. She had a deal previously, but is looking for new representation.
Peace & blessings..K.

And this is from January's BV Buzz with Jawn Murray.

...Word is out that Q-Tip has signed with Motown Records, but I hear he's not the only one joining the roster of the famed label. Sources say that Tamia, Pras of The Fugees, '106 & Park' host Free and Chauncey Hannibal of Blackstreet have all struck solo deals with the label as well. Both Tamia and Free, if the reports pan out, would have followed Sylvia Rhone over to Motown from their previous stints at the defunct Elektra Records.

Now, Q-Tip currently has a deal with Motown, so......? I'll let y'all draw your own conclusions. But I will say that this move would be a lot more logical for Free than the aforementioned Def Jam. Either way, Free says she's "focused man" so anything is definitely possible.

*By the way, I'm gonna get ghost for the rest of the week, but I'll be back on Monday to keep y'all updated. Until then, sit tight and have a blessed Thanksgiving!

One time exclusive-clusive-clusive!

I wasn't going to put this up here until tomorrow, but man, I just had to do it NOW! I finally found the "Focus" remix that Free is featured on. I think she killed it, so click on the link and draw an opinion of your own. I would really appreciate your feedback on this one.

Yo............."Holla at me maaaaan!" LOL. Y'all will get it once you listen to the song.

Airport Run In.

This was posted in AllHipHop.com's Rumor section a few days ago. Like I said, y'all shouldn't believe the hype. I think this rumor only resurfaces because people are looking for a flaw in Jay and Beyonce's relationship. I mean really, it can't be that good, right? Nah, I'm only playing. LOL.

FREE’S PERFECT (ACCORDING TO MY HOMEY)

Speaking of blessed cuties…my man Javon says, “What's going on, illseed? I’d just like to respond to the rumor about Free being pregnant. Well, I ran into Free at the Savannah Airport on October 24 and she was not pregnant. I was actually in line behind her at the security checkpoint and we talked for about 10-15 minutes. She was very down to earth and she really left a great impression on me. If she is pregnant, she's not that far along to be giving birth especially after I just saw her two weeks ago with a perfect body.

Free on BET's Ultimate Hustler tonight.

I'm so sorry for not getting this info to you guys earlier. I'm slippin' on my pimpin.' LOL. Free was featured on Ultimate Hustler tonight for a hot second. The teams were given a mission to deliver special packages to a select number of people that Dame Dash respects. And.....surprise! Freedom was apart of the crew. It was exciting to see her and she looked really nice. So make sure to catch the re-airing on Thursday, November 17th at 12 AM (central time). You'll be able to see Free about 30 minutes into the show.

**Update: I told y'all I would put up some screen caps, but guess what? My dumb self recorded over the clip before I could get them. I'm sorry, but that's a no go. But I do have the clue that I promised:

Home of the brave,
Land of the free.
Everyone eventually figured out that it was Free and her CEO package was delivered with only a little bit of drama.

Class is in session.

Okay, since Free's love life seems to be the talk of the town, let me give y'all a proper education in the unknowns and break down what's really good.

First up, AJ.

So, what did Free have to say about AJ when asked by XXL Magazine?

Everybody wants me to ask this: Have you ever dated AJ?
"Noooo! But AJ's a great guy. We just have fun on the show all day, so it's never ever, ever anything like that. I'm very much [single], I don't have time for anything else. This job is serious. My personal life, I keep completely personal."

And now I give you....Eminem? Yes, Eminem. Everyone seems to think Free has slept with ol' boy, but let me drop some knowledge on you. This is what Em had to say about the lovely Free when asked about their relationship.

"I used to talk to Free. We ended up not dating but still keep in touch on a semi regular basis."

I know what you're thinking, what about Chris Luva Luva? Well, here you go.

Whats up with you and Free from 106 & Park. Every time you’re on the show it seems the two of you seem to have something going on we don’t know about?
"Let's just keep that the way it is. I can’t really speak on that." (Laugh)

Free has been quoted to say Luda is "actually a cool cat." These statements might make you wonder, but on the real, I get the impression that they are close friends. They support each other in a couple of things, birthdays included as some of you can already see.

And last, but DEFINITELY not least, Jay Z.

Gossip guru Jawn Murray commented on the whole Jay and Free rumor way back in February's BV Buzz.

"The rumor mill says they were kicking it nearly three years ago, about the time a certain producer played a hot track for me that she recorded for her still-not-released rap debut, and Jay-Z wrote her verses."

Monday, November 14, 2005

Surprise!

I am extremely shocked, and I'm sure the rest of you are too, but Free didn't have a baby. SMH. Anyway, this is from AllHipHop.com's rumor section.

FREE’S BABY WENT HOME WITH ANOTHER COUPLE.

From what I understand (basically heard), Jay-Z's right hand man Ty Ty and his girlfriend were the ones blessed to have a newborn baby – not Free and Jay! All this madness was going down last week, because people were saying that Free (formerly of “106 & Park” had Hovie’s baby boy. There are now pictures floating on the net about this one. If you don’t know who Ty Ty is, he’s been Jay-Z homey forever, but people might recall he’s accused to spraying R.Kelly with mace. I believe he’s the centerpiece of a new lawsuit by Kellz against Jay. I told y’all Free was in Washington D.C. just last month hosting a Millions More Movement show with Chuck D, Public Enemy and a slew of others. Congrats to the lucky pair. And as for Free - keep hope alive!

Friday, November 11, 2005

Free has birthed Jay Z's child.

Yeah, right. And my name is Billy Bob, which by the way it's not. On Wendy Williams' radio show this morning, several people called in claiming that Free and Jay were seen at a New York hospital together. Please people, don't believe the hype. Half of the mess that comes out of Wendy's mouth is bull sh*t and there's no way Free was pregnant with the figure she had at Keyshia Cole's birthday party just 3 weeks ago. Well, at least people are still talking about Free. Hey, any publicity is good publicity.

Free4Life Foundation Address

Okay, I've got the address to the Free4Life Foundation. Now, I don't know how legit the address is, but I think the phone number listed is accurate. I definitely don't reccommend that you send money or personal information to the address because it might not be real. Also, I would only write or call for information concerning the foundation. Anyway, here's the info:

Free to play a role in Dreamgirls?

I don't know how true this is, but it seems like Free has already landed a minor role in the upcoming film "Dreamgirls." She is supposedly cast alongside Tamyra Gray and Vivian Green as the "Stepp Sisters"--the girl group from the original play who beat the Dreams in the first talent contest. We're just going to have to wait and see how this pans out. I believe the movie begins filming on January 8, 2006.

Free and who?! Mike Jones, Jones!

I know I'm sort of late on this, but Free is in Mike Jones' new video, "Flossin'/Screw Dat." Well........kinda. Free's KING Magazine cover is on the table next to Mike in the beginning of the video. You're probably like, "Man, that ain't sh*t." Yeah, I know, but at least we're seeing Freedom somewhere. Check out the above pic or click on the link below to watch the actual video.

BET WON’T GIVE YOU FREE…

Why was Free absent from the BET anniversary celebration? Well, I have told you all once and I’ll tell you again As much as I like Free, a certain big wig at BET does not. The Boston beauty doesn’t get along with some of the top brass at Black Entertainment Television, from what I heard, and is excommunicated! Now, this rift is so pronounced and deep that I heard she’s basically banned. But she is happy and BET is happy with their nice show. Still, I’ve received word from my peeps and Free’s out enjoying life. And that’s the way it should be! But, don’t expect her at any BET events for…well, forever.

"People were always saying, you can't do this, you can't do that. I decided to name myself 'Free' because if you always listen to what people say, they can stop you from doing what you want to do. I just want to be able to do what I want to do, be me, and not worry about what everybody says."
